Those sad, wet, cold people holding signs and waving to you this morning means that it is Election Day.
Well not a real one, but a primary. Primaries are designed to get rid of the poor, self-righteous candidates, and settle on two candidates financed by special interests and who are seeking elected offices for purely selfish reasons.
In the Democratic Senate race, Maria Cantwell defeated Hong Tran the day Tran didn't become a cable television entrepreneur.
The two biggest races will be in Seattle's 43rd, where six individuals with basically the same ideals are trying to win the house seat Ed Murray is vacating.
The Times endorsed Bill Sherman, the PI endorsed Jim Street, even though he has a picture of himself doing this on his website. The Stranger endorsed Stephanie Pure, and The Weekly's endorsement page stepped down last Friday. Other endorsements courtesy of The Stranger are here.
There are also three Supreme Court races, including Gerry Alexander verses John Groen. Alexander, the current justice, believes that marriage is only for procreation purposes, so we assume that he and his wife have fought off menopause and ED to still do it like mad. He is running against Groen who, if you believe his ads, is the sleaziest man on the face of the earth.
But isn't that what Election Primary Day is all about, making decisions? Polls are open until 8pm, road blocks will be down at 9pm.
