Yeah, we know you just spent all weekend at Bumbershoot. Is the wee little baby tired? Can't handle any more music? Ah, look at that poodum...

Wednesday 6th

>>> The Original Superstars of Jazz Fusion at The Triple Door. Everyone who survived the jazz fusion movement without a dehabilitating acid freakout assembles here to fry your mind the natural way.
7pm/10pm; $45/50. You can only buy tix for the 10pm online.

>>> Boards of Canada Tribute Night at The Rendezvous. Bands and DJs pay tribute to BoC. No, we're not entirely sure what that means, but we're going to check it out anyway.9pm; Free. 21+, Here's the flyer

>>> The Black Keys at The Showbox. Because you can't go wrong with blues-rock from Akron, Ohio.
8pm; $15 adv.

Thursday 7th

>>> (7th thru 10th) Wooden Octopus Skull Experimental Musick Pfestival at The Conjuring Room (2203 Utah Ave. S). Last year's festival was an eye-opener for Seattlest, and this year looks to be more of the same, with more artists we've never heard of bringing their take on noise, drone, and other odd sound collages. Really, it's fun, you just have to have a very open mind - and earplugs.
Various Prices & Times, check site for details

>>> Silver Jews with Viva Voce at The Showbox. We keep hearing about these Silver Jews. Not sure if it's the name or the music we remember.
Doors at 8pm; $15 adv/$17 door

Friday 8th

>>> Dandy Warhols and Brian Jonestown Massacre at The Showbox. Go see the documentary Dig!, then realize why this bill is a must-see. Will it all fall apart? Probably not, but you should be there just in case.
8pm doors; All Ages. SOLD OUT - Try Craigslist.

>>> Mark Farina & Raoul Belmans at Neumo's. Uniting Souls is bringing house music to Neumo's, which is great since it keeps us from having to go to Trinity, one of the lesser circles of Hell on the weekends.
10pm-3am; $15 adv. @ ticketswest.com. 21+

>>> Skullbot w/guests at Crocodile. Cool local kids with a flair for heavy rock shit that sounds like Black Sabbath. (Cue the Black Sabbath fan comments...)
8pm; $5

Saturday 9th

>>> The Ditty Bops at Chop Suey. They're touring the nation...by bike! That kind of dedication alone means you should go.
6pm; $11 adv, $13 dos. All ages.

>>> DEVO at The Paramount. Fresh off their Bumbershoot cancellation last year – they're here again, except this time it will cost you. Tickets will leave a hole in your wallet but remember: this is DEVO!
8pm; $46-$66 adv.

Monday 11th

>>> The Melvins at Neumo's. We don't know much about these seminal grunge precursors, but last week we ran into a Hopvine bartender who was very excited for this show.
8pm; $15 adv. 21+

>>> Golden Smog at the Showbox. The Twin Cities' Jayhawks/Soul Asylum/Wilco supergroup don't come 'round often. Seattle marks the first stop on their eight-city tour.
7pm doors; $17.50 adv/$20 at the door. 21+

Tuesday 12th

>>> Sarathan Records Showcase w/The Purrs, Two Loons for Tea, Christopher Blue, Shane Bartell at Neumo's. Local label Sarathan Records is going to show off some of the bands on their roster. They've got great t-shirt designs, so the merch is top-notch.
8pm; $5, 21+
