Where I-5 Becomes Peekaboo Street

BettieHouse.jpg
We found out about the Bettie Page house on I-5 from Metblogs, mere hours before we first saw it for ourselves. We could've just linked to the photo Metblogger Josh pointed out, but we figured, why not see if we can get a snapshot ourselves?

If you'd like your own eyeful, look east when you're on I-5 close to the northbound exit to 65th.

We admire how the painter turned the roofline into faux pasties (or a faux black-bar censor box, depending on your perspective), and look forward to Mayor Nickels forcibly removing this house to Georgetown any day now.

Now that would be a decision most of us in Georgetown would LOVE! Large scale art is so much better than lies about trucks and trash. (The latest slip up by the city, after promising the trucks would use specific streets is the fact they're allowing several other cities to use the transfer station, but have no control over those drivers.)

Boo dump. Yay Bettie Page.

On second thought, Nickels probably won't let you have it if it ends up advertising a strip club. Visible from the freeway and all, don't you know.
