Scoble's Pulse Fading. Or He's A Zombie. Either Way.
Seattle's Most Famous Blogger no longer works for Microsoft. Actually he doesn't even live in Seattle anymore, but we're going to let him keep the 'Seattle's Most Famous' title until either someone else rises up or he does something noteworthy at his new job and destroys the facade. So far, nothing.
In fact it's tough to even get an interesting interview out of the guy these days, but the Mercury News out of San Jo is not really giving him much to work with: "Are corporate blogs something trendy or is something changing?" Build a name for yourself doing the corporate blogging thing and your interviews are going to come out in the business section. That's a lesson for you kids out there to learn. He also just bought a $900,000 house in Half Moon Bay which should be another lesson of some sort.
When the interviewer finally shoots for the torso Scoble more or less declines to answer.
Q But won't it be dispiriting if all this blogging is really about selling things or talking about consumer products? If this "word-of-mouth world,'' as you call it, is about spreading information about Ford Escorts.A It can work against companies as well.
That's not Seattlest's editing there. That's the whole answer. This from a guy who blogged his whole Microsoft career, his high-profile job change and his mother's sickness and death, "It can work against companies as well."
Where can we get our hands on the sedatives Podtech.net is feeding him?
