-The claims of "white washing Islamists" continue in some paper called the Washington Times today in an article that revolves around the sanity of Naveed Haq. This is also a local meme.
-Bullshit. Everyone knows that you have to whale on the pedestrian knob at least a dozen times in order for it to register your presence. That's Seattle 101. Bonus points if you pound on it with no cars in sight.
-Someone's taking some action on the state of public education funding in Washington and, counterintuitively, it's Bellevue.
-King County home prices in July were up almost 15% from a year ago but the number of sales dropped almost 14% which tells us the prices are too high. We rent, though, so what the hell do we know. Furthermore, foreclosures are on the rise.
-Prodhoe Bay's oil operation closure which could last weeks or months won't cause a fuel shortage, says Reuters. Right.
-We've been going to Japundit for our Engrish fix but there's now a Flickr group to wallow in.
-100 drunken boaters were arrested during Seafair which is apparently some kind of record. Half that many were arrested in 2005.
