In our quest to spot something [Ed: ANYthing] happening on 15th Ave before the microblogonauts at Capitol Hill Seattle do, we bring you this possibly useful news item. Ongoing road work is going to close 15th Avenue East from Madison to Denny (that is, from Thumper's to Safeway) this Saturday, for most of the day. It's all according to plan:
This project is an SDOT Crew Arterial Major Maintenance Project that includes asphalt resurfacing, placement of loop detectors for signals, and wheelchair curb ramp upgrades. Estimated Construction Cost: $80,000.
They're working away on it all this week, so that strip of 15th may not be the fastest way to go, especially this weekend when you head off to see the HYDROS! and MILK CARTON DERBY! [UPDATE: We just threw the DERBY! in for variety, but as Donte points out, that event was July 1, so if you're heading there this weekend, what the hell, you might as well take 15th Ave.]

Loop detectors! Sweet!
you're about a month late for the milk carton derby. that was on july 1st. one of the other microblogonauts covered it.
See, I try to make my post even more relevant by quickly scanning the Seafair site, and look what happens.
Though if people DO take 15th Ave to get to the derby, then they'll be even MORE pissed when they get there and find out they're a month late.
