Just a couple corrections for your article:

1: It is SaveOurSonics.Org and not .Com

2: SonicsCentral.Com did not "launch" the website. While we welcome their support, and hope that everyone in Seattle will see the wisdom of joining in to preserve this important piece of our community fabric and history, the creation of the site, and group, was independent of them.

Fans and non-fans alike have a right to be very angry with both Howard Shultz AND the elected officials that run Seattle. There is more than enough blame to go around.

However finding someone to blame isn't going to solve the problem. It is in the best interest of everyone in the region to find a way to keep the team here. We can debate the big picture issues all day long, but for now we need to focus our efforts on saving the team.

We stopped the move of the Mariners.

We brought back the Seahawks who had already left town.

We can do this too.

Seattle Center is weird. It's not a park, it's not a residential area, it hosts a few dippy festivals every year that once were unique because they drew interesting musicians to Seattle who wounln't normally come here. Now they come here anyway.

Basically, it's a waste of space.

If I were in charge of the world I'd turn it back into a residential/mixed use area.

The other thing at issue here is that Seattle doesn't seem to care whether or not the Sonics/Storm stay in the city. I saw a poll that said somewhere newar 66% of Seattlites thought it seemed okay if the teams left. Are those people looking past the end of their nose? I agree with Drew. what they hell are we going to do with the Key Arena? The solution here is for the buyers (christian guys from oklahoma) to invest in the stadium and make it something that mirrors what Anschutz did for the Pepsi center. There are 3 sports that are there, plus concerts, plus conferences. They've made the Pepsi center a destination rather than an eyesore, which is what Key Arena has become.

The mayor of Seattle, Washington state government, and the people of the Pacific Northwest have just as much to do with this team being sold as Howard Schultz et al...

If we really loved and backed this team - there would be enough voices to have some sort of tax passed for the Sonics. Instead, we have petitions on the streets trying to divert money away from the Sonics, as well as all local prof. sports.

If we dont want to spend money on our local sports teams - fine. There are plenty of other places in this country that are more than happy to put up the dough.

Howard Schultz is partly at fault - I'll give you that. But he is, by in large, being made into a public scapegoat to detract attention from the shortcomings of the public.

Not complete morons but enough to entertain a $5 coffee business in every part of the city....

Get, this: my friend, a long-time Sonics season ticket holder, got a call this morning from the Sonics ticket office and they were soliciting season ticket packages! How offensive is that?! I'm stunned; the nerve of this organization is absoluetly offensive...and very telling. I can't believe how badly this organization is run. When my friend refused to talk to them, the ticket office couldn't understand why he was so upset. This has got to be the dumbest group of people, right next to the Bush Administration.

As an owner, you have the right to make whatever changes you feel is necessary for the good and survival of your product or company, but please be honest about it; stop feeding people crap while telling them it tastes good. It's offensive and insulting. At the very least, the people of Seattle and Sonic fans deserve that. I believe an organization or company is a direct reflection of its leader(s). Howard Shultz and co.: what lying, insincere, money-grubbing slimeballs!

I can't stand any of the people involved, Schultz, Walker, Nickels, Licotta etc etc.

That being said, what the hell does the city think it's going to do with Seattle Center? Between the Sonics, Storm, and T-Birds (they're moving to Kent) that area will be without at least a million people who attend those events.

I realize the Center has been losing money with the teams playing there but without anyone to at least provide some money to help pay off debts, the amount they'll lose will grow exponentially.

The fans get doubly screwed. The team will be gone and we'll get to pay for another Seattle clusterfuck where we throw another few hundred million down the drain. How's did these people end up in charge???
