No One Hearts The Viaduct

On the way to work this morning a bumper sticker startled us out of a.m. trance. It read "We <3 Viaduct," or "We heart Viaduct" for the ASCII challenged. Seattlest can see hating the tunnel, and there should be a cute bumper sticker-able icon for hate, but it strikes us as more than a tad disingenuous to claim that anyone at all hearts the viaduct. Please, sticker displayer, find Seattlest and explain how it's possible to love the Viaduct. The anti-tunnel crowd has now rocketed into the lead in the race for the lamest transit related bumper sticker.

I actually like the Viaduct, because you get two amazing views: downtown on one side, and Puget Sound, the Olympics and the waterfront on the other. It's one of the few drives in the world I really look forward to.

I heart the Viaduct! And I'll be sad when it goes.

It pains me to hear people say it mars the skyline. I believe the Viaduct is currently an integral part of the skyline - it makes Seattle unique. It's a great drive (beats the hell out of I-5 through dt).

Even before the Nisqually quake damage people wanted rid of the Viaduct. Really now, what is to hate?

Mine eyes have been opened. I really had no idea there were people out there who actually like the Viaduct rather than just kind of put up with it or favor it over the options. There should be a support group for you people. Or some kind of recovery program.

Great view from it,
Great speed because of it,
oh, and I don't own any 'waterfront' property that I'm creaming over the idea of how much it will increase if I can dupe the citizens that we all need another tourist trap poulated with overpriced condos under the guise of a 'park'for the people

snarky enough for you snarky mcsnarkyson?

I also love the viaduct. I think if you ask most people who drive on it regularly (used to be daily for me), they will respond more on the "love" side than the "eh, it's alright" side. Obviously it needs a tune-up, but it's turbo compared to I-5, and who cares how ugly it is when you get such a killer view from it?
Actually, I am mostly commenting to see if anybody knows where I can pick up one of those stickers. ??

The viaduct is fantastic! It's an ugly baby but it is my ugly baby. I have to agree with Jack Stern who says "The only people who hate the viaduct are those who don't use it."

Don't be a hater.

Do you know where I can buy otherwise obtain one of these stickers? I love the viaduct because it could get my from my house in Fremont to my boyfriend's in West Seattle in 15 minutes. I've looked everywhere online. I want it to compliment my "Free Ballard."
