This week Seattlest invites you to get your hand out of your pants and join us for some shows...

Wednesday 12th

>>> WIRE presents: Pleasurecraft This is a Blackout cd release; performing live with New Gray Area at The Baltic Room
9pm; Free!

Thursday 13th

>>> The Clumsy Lovers at St. Edward State Park (Kenmore)

>>> "Trapped In The Closet!" at Rebar
7pm doors; 8pm show, $10

>>> Refugee All Stars of Sierra Leone at Neumo's. Fresh off their documentary (which screened at SIFF), this collective of musicians bring their dance-happy African grooves to Neumo's for a benefit for immigrant rights.
Doors 8pm, show 9pm; $15 advance/$17 at the door

Friday 14th

>>> The Fray at Showbox. Personally, we think this tepid piano rock band blows, but nonetheless, the show's sold out. 50 million VH1 fans can't be wrong.

>>> Persephone's Bees at the Comet. Sunny California pop fronted by a heavily accented Russian chick.
8pm, $5

>>> Harry and the Potters at The Central Library. Any show at the Library is worth seeing, but particularly this one.
7pm, free

>>> The Bottle Rockets at The Tractor. This is a "rural rock" CD release befitting of Ballard. Check em out.
9:30pm, $12

Saturday 15th

>>> Red Elvises at The Tractor. Russian hard folk-rock from LA, complete with balalaika!
9:30pm, $15

>>> The Sword at El Corazon. Metal from Austin about wolves and dragons and such with no detectable irony. Think Sabbath.
Early show - 8pm start, $10

Sunday 16th

>>> Harry and the Potters at 836 Seattle "We play songs about books!"
8pm; $5 donation

Monday 17th

Nothing. Really.

  • I've been looking forward to seeing Harry and the Potters for a while now. I won't make it to the Central Library show, but 826 Seattle sounds like a lovely time!
