Art Show Action Tonight: Olivodoce and The Henry

There's that Summer at the Henry opening thing happening tonight, aka free snacks, cheap wine, scenester eye candy. The art looks pretty interesting too: an installation by someone named Akio Takamori about "the laughing (or mad) monks of Zen Buddhist iconography" and what looks like 14 years worth of abstracto/auto-bio paintings by Byron Kim. We saw that Maya Lin thing already, but it wouldn't kill us to see it again.

There's also a new show at the Olivodoce (see sample image above) with new collaborative work by cartoonist and Stranger contributor Jessixa and someone named Aaron Bagley who apparently collaborate together on a series of really goofy looking, weird ass drawings. Check out a few of them on the Olivodoce site right here. The opening is Friday July 7th from 7-10pm at the Olivodoce Art Space 1203 East Olive Street (12th ave and East Olive St. on Capitol Hill).
