Arbitron Puts KOMO Over KIRO, But So What

Seattlest's radio only has two buttons; one for KUOW and one for KEXP, and we only use those when our iPod's battery gives up the ghost 2 minutes into a drive. Or if Moe's on.

Radio ratings were released yesterday and according to Blatherwatch the big news is that KOMO topped KIRO for the first time in memory. That's his memory which is hopefully much longer than Seattlest's memory because our Seattle radio memory goes way back to about the middle of last week. KOMO over KIRO is an interesting bit of news, but we're more an information trends type of website. We like to look at the big picture and feel the data a bit. Plus we don't know shit about Seattle radio beyond our comfy two. In that light we're going to reproduce just the format for the stations they have listed as being the highest rated in Seattle, and think a little bit about whether the that information fits with what we think we know about Seattle, urbania and the human condition, beyond the fact that Christians and Country music fans listen to a shitload of radio.
