Second First Dog

shiba1.jpgIf Governor Gregoire had her way, United 93 would have been in theaters September 12th.

Just a few months after a car ran over their their dog Franz, and weeks after they sent Dean Logan to a farm near Los Angeles where he can run and frolic with other election officials, the first family acquired a new pet.

Gregoire and her husband Mike bought a Japanese Shiba named Trooper this week.

The First Family said that they had planned to wait until they'd completed the grief process before replacing Franz. But all it took was them looking at a puppy for all their previous memories to dry up like fresh tears on a hot day.

We will let the governor tell the story: "I said, 'We're not really interested in a puppy,' but Mike said, 'Let's go look,'" the governor said. "Well, have you ever seen an ugly puppy? We fell in love with the little guy."

Too soon, Madame Governor, too soon.

In a related story, Dino Rossi looked over paint chips at Home Depot.

  • In a sad note I got to meet the late Franz after the Young Democrats lobby day on MLK day back in January this of year. My cats shedded on my pants the night before and I did not have time to get all the hair off and after the reception he ran out of the governors mansion on his way to take a poop or something and he was very interested in the cat hair on my pants. He was a damn cute little guy.
