Happened to me too, James. I think I'm overthinking it. Today argentina v holland. I love the total football but no one will beat the argentinians in this whole tournament. Easy pick. Maybe they'd rather play Portugal over Mexico, though. Maybe they'll both be playing it soft. Maybe they'll rest people. Holland then. Or a draw. I've been suckered into picking a lot of draws. And this is why I suck at this.Dan

I'd just like to point out that MustBeatJim up there is a friend of mine who I challenged to play, who knows nothing about soccer and probably hasn't watched a single game. I, meanwhile, have watched every game and am doing very, very poorly.

Wow, I've impressed myself by doing far better than I anticipated. Looking at the remaining games in Round 1, I don't expect the field to start separating too much, unless there are some significant upsets.

My guess is that Round 2 is where the players are going to be separated from the wannabees.

Well, my picks in the world cup aren't going the way I would want them to, but I'm having fun trying my hardest and having a decent excuse for watching the games.

Currently, I'm cheering for Ecuador. I'm looking forward to the Ecuador v Germany game to see how group A pans out, but I'd love to see those guys go all the way. Germany isn't going to be easy, though.
