B&B's are nice additions to a neighborhood but that is no reason to allow this one to stay.

They applied for a Residential change permit with the intention of Commercial use which is fraud.

Close it down.

When (probably sooner rather than later) the city council changes the law then they can reapply.

I am a skateboarder. There are no places to skate in Seattle. There are 2 skateparks, and one is being torn. Portland has 16. There are thousands of skaters that need a place to practice. We are not criminals, drug dealers or anything else but people who love to skateboard. It is part of a healthy lifestyle.

I heard this story on KUOW. My favorite part was when the neighbor opposed to the B&B said his opposition really started when an intended guest walked into the neighbor's house and sat around in the living room. The neighbor's wife was frightened when she came downstairs and found the guy there; he immediately apologized and went next door.

And all I could think was, "That's not a reason to hate the B&B. That's a reminder to lock your frickin' door."

The skate park is planned for the other side of the lake, but this "B&B" (or, more likely, whorehouse) is walking distance from my house!

It must be stopped and here's why:

--Guests walking on the lawn could expose dangerous chemical contaminants in the soil

--Parking is already horrible at Green Lake. Can we really cede spaces to guests at this den of iniquity. For big events like the Milk Carton Derby, residents might drive for hours looking for a spot.

--Bed and Breakfasts are a fad, anyway.
