Here's a shocker: Seattlest is fond of websites. We're especially fond of the kind of websites built by people like Jeffrey Zeldman and Eric Meyer, two of the brains behind Web design magazine A List Apart.
Which is why our heart quickened when we saw that An Event Apart is coming to Seattle. An Event Apart is, per their site, "a concentrated, creative learning session that will change the way you approach web design."
Why Seattle? Apparently, they're fans of the city:
Seattle, the other Silicon Valley. Mountain-kissed, rain-dappled. Home of the Space Needle and Starbucks. Birthplace of Hendrix and Amazon. Famous for Puget, grunge, and other Sounds. Land of microserfs and Mariners. A pescetarian’s dream, a traveler’s paradise. Here is Pike Place Market and there is the little shack that Bill Gates calls home. Seattle had Real before 37signals got real. We could go on forever.
The event is Monday, Sept. 18. Register now and save $50. That's $499 for an event that promises "from the first minute to the last, this will be a high-tempo, in-depth, dirty-code-and-all seminar where your questions will influence the direction the day takes." Seattlest is excited, and Seattlest can't code for shit -- we're a writer.

Around The -Ists This Week

I was just about to register for Web Design World July 10, but came across the Event Apart conference. I'm thinking I'll sign up for AEA instead ...
Is Seattlest going to either?
