World Cup Cast From The George And Dragon

ESPN's gamecast won't load, and their live scores are not as live as Seattlest Seth, who's currently encamped at the George and Dragon pub in Fremont. We're a little late starting, but we'll update this post with reports from him as they come in.

Guess that's the end of our G&D broadcast day. The action's over until 6am tomorrow morning, when England takes the field against Paraguay. If they manage to lose that one, the George and Dragon may no longer exist. See ya there.

Spitfire looks like it'll be a great place to watch games. Gigantic televisions visible from everywhere, but this afternoon at least, they're lacking the crowd intensity of the G&D. Many shouts for the Ecuadorian goal - Nothing for the Poles to cheer. They said they had a decent crowd this morning, and it may be a good downtown-ish place to stop at on the way to work. 1-0 Ecuador.

Ok, Seattlest Seth will continue to hold it down at the G&D for today's second game, but Seattlest Dan is going to try Spitfire in Belltown (where the Sit n' Spin used to be). Expect either double the updates or no updates between 12 and 1, depending on how well our remote gear holds up.

My guinness is one gulp away from done as Germany scores its fourth
goal. Lots of relieved clapping from the nervous fans here.

Cheers of ole ole ole ole/ ricos, ricos. Doertmund (I think) finishes
another goal. 2 shots, 2 goals for cr and maybe deposed German
goalkeeper Oliver Kahn should be in after all. ESPN cameras
immediately show Kahn. Much mirth, jumping and hugging from nearby
costa rican girls.

Costa rican defender caught watching a rebounded header, his man
sneaks past him to score. 3-1 germany. Hard to see how costa rica,
with only 1 shot, could come back.

The crowd here seems to be thinning out a bit. A really good-looking woman walks by--momentarily confused until I see the cameraman trailing her. Germany getting sloopy, ahs of disgust from the assembled allemanians

the blue sweater behind me pleads for a goal before half. He doesn't
