On the other hand, I&apos;d have to observe that many of the serious folk musicians I know have moved off to Bellingham or Olympia. Seattle&apos;s expensive to live in, and audiences around here are apparently more interested in dance clubs than folk-music venues.

I remember when the Tractor really had folk music. But that was a long while back.&lt;/p&gt;</description>

<description>&lt;p&gt;Seattle is so indie-rock-who-will-be-the-next-superstar driven that it takes indie status for people to pay attention. But I think this hip indie thing is waning, or to put it a different way, Seattle has so many venues and opportunities for all types of music that it would be defeatist to say that folk has no place here. Plus, all music is folk music. 
And also, Kim - your songs are great; I&apos;ve seen you several times around town.&lt;/p&gt;</description>
