Seattle Craft Mafia

craftmafia.jpgThe Austin-based Craft Mafia has been a hit in Texas and in other cities and Seattle just the kind of place for a new familia. And as if in answer to that void SeattleCraftMafia.com launched today.

We are a group of like-minded, quirky, independent business owners and artisans in the Seattle area who have come together to offer mutual support, information, resources, and enthusiasm to one another, and to offer goodwill to the communities in which we live and work.

Please enlighten Seattlest. We're not that crafty and we don't understand that missioin statement. What is the purpose of the Craft Mafioso? Is this like a DIY Chamber of Commerce type of thing or a knitting club or an organized crime ring? Or is it just a ploy to get media attention for the businesses involved (because if that's the case it's worked very very well). What the hell is the Craft Mafia?

  • Basically, we started the SCM as a way for small and indie business owners to have a support network. We share expenses for advertising and promotion, give each other cheerleading when the going gets tough, and share good resource finds.

Running a small business can be a stressful and lonely venture, so the SCM is also a forum where members can speak to others who go through similar challenges.

We also like to get together and plot ways to take over the world. ;)

  • There is no such thing as the craft mafia
