Race Card Pete on Seattle’s Major Transportation Projects
Guest Poster Race Card Pete is back. He's a program director at KUBE, and in his spare time he tutors children at Sacajawea Elementary School. He lives in Bitter Lake, but is about to move into a fixer-upper in the Central District. Previously he wrote on a possible Sonics area deal.
It seems odd that with all the proposed solutions to the city's transportation woes, the only major project that is currently underway, Sound Transit's light rail construction, has been hit with charges of racism. From the Viaduct to 520. From the Monorail to the Waterfront Trolley. Seattle's traffic continues to get worse and worse, and yet we as a city cannot make up our minds or push forward any major transportation solutions, except for this project. I'm just saying.
Until next time Seattle, drive safely.
