Copeland Cancels

We were busy recommending you see Stewart Copeland speak at the Egyptian tonight before the screening of his documentary when we heard that his brother Ian died last week. Hmm, we wondered, might this recent event result in Copeland skipping his Seattle appearance? After all, the death of a loved one is a little more important than SIFF.
The official word came today---
Due to the death of his brother Ian Copeland, Stewart Copeland will no longer be in attendance for his conversation and screening of his film, Everyone Stares: The Police Inside Out. SIFF is extremely sorry for Mr. Copeland's loss and wishes him support and love in this difficult time.Without Copeland, the pre-screening conversation and film will proceed as such:
Ben London, Executive Director of the Northwest Chapter of the Recording Academy, will talk about Copeland's life and career, with clips and trailers, and read a statement from Mr. Copeland. The screening of Everyone Stares: The Police Inside Out will follow.
Those attending the screening will be offered a single ticket voucher good for a regular SIFF screening. Those requesting a refund can do so in person at the SIFF Main Box Offices, Broadway Performance Hall and the Pacific Place.
Ian appears in a great deal of Stewart's documentary footage, since he worked with The Police (amongst other bands) on the business end of things, as an agent/promoter. These upcoming screenings of Everyone Stares could offer a good opportunity to reflect on the body of work of the brothers Copeland. Ian, R.I.P.
