Yet Another Huge Biodiesel Refinery Announced

Someone called Chemical Consortium Holdings, Inc. made an interesting announcement today. With a scary name like that you'd expect them to issue a press release saying that they absolutely refute all charges brought against them by the EPA, however in this case they have something positive to say. Today they announced that they're building a Biodiesel plant in Walla Walla that will be capable of producing 60 million gallons of fuel a year. Yay Chemical Consortium Holdings, Inc.

There's not a lot of information in the PSBJ about it, but we'd like to hear someone look into whether this facility will compete with or compliment the Biodiesel refinery to be built in western Washington that was announced a few weeks ago. Chemical Consortium Holdings, Inc's will be a little smaller (the one planned for Grays Harbor will produce 100 million gallons of fuel a year), but there's a lot to be said for its location - If you build it where the vegetable mass is produced you don't have to burn fuel to get it across the state, right? Conversely, a plant on the coast with access to a ready-willing-and-able workforce and international shipping sounds like a good thing, too. Hopefully there's room in the market for both of these guys to play.
