Bare-Bones Library Interface

mini-loccat.jpgSeattlest loves the web, but we were sad when the Seattle Public Library got rid of their no-frills dial-up catalog interface. Their web interface is fine, but we think all the nav elements and pictures of book covers clutter things up more than they help us out.

So we were delighted to discover -- while looking for something else on their not-very-intuitive website -- a link to the text-only version of the SPL catalog. It's quick, clean, and 100% frill-free, and the second-best thing on their website after the Oxford English Dictionary.

Now if only they'd hire an information architect to make their website a bit more intuitive.
