Our Burning Question Before Seeing United 93

mini-mpaa.jpgWhat previews were they going to show before a grueling recreation of personal and national tragedy?

We thought distributors might just skip them, but at the Oak Tree last Sunday, there were four. In order:
1) The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford. OK.
2) All the King's Men. OK. Now we want to reread the book.
3) The remake of The Omen. Creepy kid on a swing. Ohh-kay...
4) The Break-Up. Wha...?

In our post-film discussion, we decided that while The Break-Up was an odd choice to lead into United 93, it was merely weird. However, if Jennifer Aniston's character had passed up the Telly Savalas waxing and gone for a landing strip -- then it would have been tasteless.
