There are about 17 of us who really enjoy following local politics. We can name the members of the city council, know our state representatives, and generally aren’t that popular at parties.
We understand why there aren’t many of us, and are fully aware that that local politics can be mundane and that continually checking the city’s website to see if anyone is raising money for a run against Sally Clark is not the best use of time. It is what we do, it is who we are.
For these reasons, we were excited to discover the PI’s new Seattle politics blog. It’s only been around since March, and there is usually only one comment-less post each day, but we will take what we can get.
Our favorite daily source is still Erica C. Barnett and Josh Feit on the Slog, but we applaud the Seattle PI for tossing the 17 of us some nuggets too dull for the Local section. Yes, we understand that we just admitted that we enjoy reading tidbits that lack enough interest to make the local news section of a newspaper. Just leave us alone.
