Seattle's the most well-educated city in the country, says the AP. 51% of Seattle residents graduated college, more than any other U.S. urbanoland. And yet we built two giant sports stadia right next to each other! Go figure.

The Woodland Park Zoo artificially inseminated one of its elephants today--Chai, who bore little Hansa five years ago. We're not sure what zookeepers used to get Chai in the mood. If we'd been asked we'd have recommended Erykah Badu...but as the zoo's in Phinney Ridge, they probably put on Coldplay.

(The semen, by the way, comes from an elephant in Tulsa, a city where only 30% of residents graduated college. Who will protest the dilution of our elephant gene pool? Probably this chick.)

New York Knick Jamal Crawford, out of Rainier Beach High School, won Eastern Conference Player of the Week honors. Unlike 51% of Seattle residents, Jamal Crawford didn't graduate college. Then again, Jamal Crawford will earn $6.5 million this year, more than every Grinnell and Oberlin grad of the past twenty years combined.

The Sonics' Chris Wilcox won Western Conference POW.
