Über Booter

uberbooter.jpgWe'll give Alpental credit for the fun-on-the-tongue name, but we can't vouch for this event personally since it is the first year they're doing it. But we like the idea: hand build a huge kicker in the Alpental backcountry and let people have at it.

You've got to get out there to watch, and there won't be a groomed run in sight. In fact, they won't even know exactly where it will be until probably a day or two in advance, depending on weather and snow conditions. Boards get to hit it on Sat, skis on Sun. Tickets are discounted for competitors, and the Summit is offering cheaper spring-rate tickets for all, as well.

And, of course, safety first people: helmets will be mandatory.

I linked to a definition of a kicker just for you, Seth. It should often be used in conjunction with phrases like "yard sale" and "dude that was rad."

Safety is for frat boys and old ladies. I'm not sure what a "kicker" is, or how one would "have at it," by God I'm not wearing a helmet.
