Blogossip: Bitchslapping at Amazon.com
This just in from the Seattle Times "News We Pulled Out of Our Ass" department: local Microsoft blogger Robert Scoble and co-author Shel Israel went to pimp their new book at the little dot com that could on Beacon Hill, and a cat fight of bloggy proportions broke out.
Apparently, Amazon.com Chief Technical Officer Werner Vogels was all up in their grill about corporate blogging policies, and he like totally thought he'd pwned those two. And then, Scoble looked at Israel like "did that bitch just look at my man?" and so went home and wrote about it on his MySpace page.
Two Seattlest reactions to this: First, please spare us from the use of "Naked" anywhere near the word "Microsoft." Second, who is the source for this stuff? Are Seattle Times staffers just sitting around the Amazon.com offices waiting for inane news to break--if so, they missed this zinger--or did someone from either Amazon's camp or Scoble decide this was newsworthy enough to actually "leak" it?
