The weather can't make up its mind, but at Seattlest, we can. We're going to rain down our weekend plans on you. Recognize.
For David S. this weekend is all about numb3rs. For most of the weekend he will be watching the twelve reamining college basketball teams be reduced to four. On Saturday night he will head to the Paramount, where to his surprise, he will realize that the seemingly two person group of Belle and Sebastian is actually made up of six people. And tonight he will watch the five seed Huskies play one seed UConn. A U-Dub win would put him on cloud nine.
Donte is going to spend his Friday celebrating the Persian New Year and dominating a Typing of the Dead tournament. The rest of the weekend will be pretty low-key, with the possibility of checking out the first bout of the season for the Rat City Rollergirls. Donte is also definitely attending the regional spelling bee on Sunday.
Editor Dan is going to Novyi Theatre's The Seagull tonight which is Chekhov so how bad can it be? It doesn't exist as far as any theater listing anywhere in the city is concerned, though, so there is cause for hesitation. Saturday he may try and see that 3D surround-o-tron fish thing at the Pacific Science Center and there's a slight chance of V for Vendetta. A friend is coming down from B'ham so the entire weekend is tinged with the threat of random drunkeness.
Jack will be sitting on his arse tonight, sipping red wine, watching the award winning Wallace & Gromit: Curse of the Were-Rabbit , and loving every delightful minute of it. Saturday, Jack will be working because he simply can't bear to be away from his desk for two days straight. Sunday, much to his dismay, his wife will put him to work in her garden. She will call it quality time. He will call it leverage.
After success with bananas and carrots (thanks, Spud), James will add a third pureed food to his daughter's diet. Apples? Potato? Oh, the possibilities. He'll also try to see high-quality representations of naked people at the Seattle Erotic Art Festival, get to Inside Man, and pack for his upcoming trip to Milwaukee to see Neko Case at the Pabst Theater (and also give grandparents some quality time with their granddaughter).
Don, certified nerd, will be at Dame Edna's show at The Moore tonight. On Saturday, Don will be buying asparagus for for the outrageous price of 97ยข/lb at Larry's. Fresh halibut there is just $9.97/lb this weekend and crab at QFC is just $3.99/lb.
Deborah's only firm plans for the weekend are a yoga class on Saturday morning at Eight Limbs Yoga. She intends to revel in rare and blissful planlessness for the remaining 46.5 hours.
Audrey will spend tonight drinking wine at a few locations . Saturday night she'll attempt to see a few band at the same time. More than likely, wackiness will ensue, all Three's Company-like.
Seth will either be floating around the city all weekend, or assiduously avoiding all basketball-related thoughts, depending on how the local scholastic five fare tonight. Saturday morning, though, he's getting trained by a NATO commando school graduate. Ya tu sabes.
