They are There to Disrupt

Uh oh. Seems as if there's some city-funded disruption of shopping and commerce (both of which are a citizen's patriotic duty) going on downtown, care of everybody's favorite drum-centric hooligans, the Infernal Noise Brigade.

We Are Here to Disrupt
Constructed by Inphaseprod
Thursday March 23-Sunday March 26
Beginning daily at 12 noon and repeating every hour on the hour until 5pm (length: 40 minutes)
Free!

INB takes over Westlake Plaza in downtown Seattle for a large-scale audio installation funded by City Artists and 4Culture. Sound composition for 16 loudspeakers carefully mixed for spatial orientation. Aimed at sonically recreating situations of street liberation, strategic blockades and other manifestations with an emphasis on the music of the Infernal Noise Brigade and its ability to transform tedium into the ecstatic.

As an added bonus, the INB, featuring their new dance team (!), will be on hand to perform Saturday and Sunday afternoons (approximately 4:30-5:00pm).

Seattlest hasn't yet been downtown to see the well-coordinated auditory mayhem, but we're planning to check it out later today or tomorrow. Anyone have a first-hand account?

Why the shit is the city funding noise pollution?

It's called art, dumbshit.

"Why the shit is the city funding noise pollution?"

Um, because sometimes it's better to ride a noisy bus than it is to drive a car?

I'd rather look at a painting with elephant poo smeared on it.

Chocolate, that can certainly be arranged.
