McCain Helps McGavick Raise McMoney

There is nothing more important to a campaign than money. Votes are nice, but it just takes forever to get them cast (come on, November!?!). The amount that you have in the bank determines if you'll spend the summer in the heat of a campaign talking to PCOs in some school lunch room about parking garages, or out of the race on a nice boat gliding across Puget Sound.

Since both candidates for Senate in this state realize that they lack the…anything, to raise this type of money themselves, they are enlisting senators people have actually heard of and like to help.

Barack Obama stumped for Maria Cantwell over the weekend, and last night Senator John McCain was the main thing to stand next to, look at, and listen to at a Mike! McGavick fundraiser. McCain, who has gone from 'Straight Talk Express' to the 'Fuck It, I Want To Be President, So I'll Say What You Want to Hear Mobile,' posed for photos and addressed a crowd of very well dressed older folks at the Westin.

These will be the first of many visits from political luminaries as both candidates look to keep the checks coming through the door, without forcing people to listen to them.
