Seattlest doesn't often regret not buying something. But when we do, man, we dwell on it. 10 months later, we still regret not buying Ryan Heshka's painting Electroladylux when we saw it at Roq La Rue's Mod Squad show last year.
It doesn't help that Heshka chose this piece for his website's home page. Every time we visit to see what's new in his portfolio we cry a little inside, wishing that Bettie Page-zilla was rampaging in our living room, rather than a Canadian tattoo parlour. Ah, what could've been.
What good news! Heshka's back at Roq La Rue tonight, part of the Triple Threat show running this evening through April 8.
What bad news! Our favorite pieces in the online gallery have already been sold.
Fine. We'll just have to visit his studio in Canada one of these days.
We'll go check out the show regardless, of course. Heshka's joined by Brian Despain and Davey, and the online gallery draws us in.

I checked this out yesterday and was also annoyed that everything was already sold. Not that I should be spending my money on art anyway, but it's the principle.
Agreed. I probably shouldn't spend the money on art, but I actually have money this time that I was willing to spend. I've been saved from my own spendthrift, artistically minded impulses.
