Brandon Roy was indescribably excellent last weekend in the Huskies' two wins over the Bay Area schools.
In recognition, the Pac-10's named him player of the week--for the third week in a row. It's the first time anyone's done that since ASU's Eddie House in 1999-2000.
This would seem to bolster Roy's chances of being named Pac-10 Player of the Year, just as his nine consecutive games with twenty points or more has bolstered the Huskies postseason chances. They are up to #16 in the latest coaches poll.
And #2 in the Pac-10. With wins this weekend in Arizona and some help from the Bay Area schools over 1st place UCLA, the Dawgs could win their first Pac-10 title since 1985-86. A good showing in the Pac-10 tourney and a #2 or #3 seed in the NCAA tourney isn't out of the question.
