So, Seattle, What Should Radio Open Source Talk About?

chris_grow_200.jpgSeattlest doesn't listen to Christopher Lydon's new radio show, Open Source, as often as we'd like. We rarely have the radio on at 9:00 p.m., but we do download their podcast.

But we like to keep an eye on their production blog and suggest-a-show threads. We noticed this morning that they'll be in town next week to attend a new media conference.

And they're looking for Seattle-based story ideas:

So: what are the burning issues up there in that northwest corner? Who do we need to meet? Who should we have on the air? And what should we talk about?
People have already suggested talking property values, "the awesomeness of our comic book publishers," salmon recovery, "the Ecotopia factor," "the Asian influence in the Northwest," the Vera Project, Mt. Rainier erupting, and visiting Salt Lake City instead.

Pop on in to their Seattle post and suggest what you'd like our east-coast visitors to discuss with people from our west-coast city. Mass transit? Mayor Gridlock? Strip club rules? Smoking ban (let's put Seth and Audrey on the air!)? Times vs. PI? Stranger vs. Weekly? Seattlest vs. Metroblogging Seattle?

No offense to Ross Reynolds, but when Lydon's good, no other public radio talk show host can touch him. (Though those Open Source groupies can seem like a dour bunch...)
