Cherub, the Vampire with Bunny Slippers

Seattlest is a huge fan of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Well, we never actually watched the show all that much. We're fans of the idea of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, maybe. We continue to have trouble sitting still for an hour (or two, or three - damn you DVDs) but we'll probably eventually get it sorted and have ourselves a Buffy marathon for the ages. Now, Angel -- to Buffy what Joanie Loves Chachi was to Happy Days-- not so much. Can you get any dorkier than a bunch of high school kids staking demons and vampires? Turns out that you can! Enter Angel.

Which is why we laughed our asses off at this reworking of the material by a bunch of local guys. Basil Harris of Awesome stars. Stephen McCandless of the Annex Theatre produced it and Scott Moore wrote the thing. The trailer is hilarious and bodes well for the series. The first episode was released today and, admittedly, we haven't taken the time to watch it. We're fans of the idea of Cherub, Episode 1...

Oh yeah, do the boys a favor and Digg it.

  • Angel ended up better than Buffy, IMHO, though I love them both with mad passion.

  • Michael

Ah, Buffy! I was just reminiscing with a friend the other day about the time Warren built April the Sexbot and programmed her with statements like:

"Crying is emotional blackmail, and good girlfriends don't cry."

    Funny and creepy. Freepy?
