Quantcast

Stalk of the town: January 27-29, 2006

Hey, Seattlest, what are you doing this weekend?

Seth is coughing up a lung or two.

Michael vB, filing from the Victrola cafe, is delighted for an excuse to spend even more time there tonight: Byron Schenkman, the virtuoso harpsichordist/pianist from Seattle Baroque Orchestra is celebrating Mozart's 250th Birthday by banging out some Mozart numbers on the upright from 8-10pm.

Also the film Cache (Hidden) has opened at the Guild 45th and he'd sure like to take a gander at that to see if it's as good as people say. So if it's raining on Saturday or Sunday, there's a high chance he'll be making a trip to Wallingford.

James is going out to dinner tonight at Black Bottle, thanks to an excellent babysitter. (No, you can't have her name, we have dibs.) Also, he hears some movie about a giant ape is still playing at a decent theater, and figures he might give that a shot.

Matt is tagging along with Audrey to whatever play she has lined up Saturday night, although he doesn't remember what it's called. Then he's attending a Chinese New Year party -- but not in the international district.

On Friday, Gina will be visiting her favorite non-Swedish warehouse store and subsequently flooding her kitchen cupboards with Kirkland Signature brand products. Saturday and Sunday will be spent in silent penance for purchasing an 84-count package of tortillas when clearly the 48-count would do.

This weekend Donte is going to be spending his time packing boxes and moving them into his new apartment. He might start planning out his episode of MTV Cribs as well, but the gold fixtures and pole for his "lady-friends" probably won't show up until next week.

Margaret is in Boulder, which, to her surprise, is much like Seattle (minus the rain and plus the altitude): mountains, not cold. She's auditioning for grad school at CU in about...4 hours. (As of 12:08 pm Friday.)

Audrey will spend a great deal of this weekend recovering from Sundance. She will also be hearing her boyfriend (of the many bands, and the sticking technique) play jazz tonight at St. Clouds in Madrona; seeing God's Country, a play on one of my favorite subjects (neo-Nazis), at the CHAC on Saturday (with Matt -- that's the play you're going to); tasting 20 Buck Duck at Campagne on Sunday.

Susan is taking a dog to Whidbey Island for beach frolicking on Saturday. Saturday night, she's attending a going-away party. And on Sunday, book group and possibly, later and with different people, some playing of music.
