WWJM?
Every once in a while, we at Seattlest get an email announcement that grabs our day by the ankles, turns it upside down, and shakes vigorously. In that spirit, we want to share with you the Triple Door's Sunday bill, and highlight a performance that has the potential to bring about societal collapse.
The Sunday shows are January 22, 29, and February 5, beginning at 6pm. Called PRAISE, A Sunday Gospel Supper, they feature gospel music from a 25-member choir. But the real draw, Seattlest is sure, is this:
Each Sunday will also feature SILENT PRAISE from Emmanuel Apostolic church in Bremerton. Silent Praise are a group of young mimes acting out enlightening passages and messages of hope and love.
As purveyors of blog, we know it's expected that we snark at the prospect of gospel mime. Yet it raises the tantalizing hope that we'll begin to see mime in other, non-traditional venues. We picture WSDOT mime. McDermott mime. Even mattress mime.
