Obviously the streets of the Emerald City will be empty between 1-5pm on Saturday, when the Seahawks play, but what are people doing the rest of the weekend?
Seth is going to a UW gymnastics meet tonight, then possibly to lesbian night at the War Room (don't ask--there are wheels within wheels, as Jeeves would say) and to the King Classic high school basketball jamboree at Key Arena Saturday night.
Matt Silvie will be checking out the new Adam Grano art show at Schmancy Toys at 1930 2nd Ave (near Stewart St.) from 6 - 9pm Friday night. The show will allegedly consist of some paintings, a customized clock of some kind, and the mysterious sounding "stuffed boofs"
Michael vB embarks upon a social whirlygig of a weekend this evening by meeting assorted Victrola Cafe irregulars for drinks at the Capitol Club at 6pm, followed by the 14/48 Festival at CHAC at 8pm (the fest ends this Saturday), and possibly a viewing of Fargo at Central Cinema at 9:30pm. Saturday he'll arise sometime prior to noon thereby to catch the noon matinee of I Am Cuba at the Northwest Film Forum, then fizz with delight at opening night of Seattle Opera's Die Fledermaus, pound for pound one of the giddiest nights at the opera ever penned. Sunday...by Sunday he'll despise the thought of any human interaction and stay home to watch DVDs all day, maybe read the latest New Yorker.
Probably Audrey will see her boyfriend's roommate's band again at the Mirabeau tomorrow night ($7, 7pm). Besides that, lots of sleeping in, watching this week's Lost, and honoring MLKJR.
This weekend Donte's going to perfect his morning oatmeal recipe. No more of that instant stuff, he's moved on to stovetop. Oh, and the techno greatness of dan bell at rebar will happen saturday night. He'll be there filled with energy because of his wholesome breakfast.
Susan reports:
Sushi and Project Runway watching Friday night.
Football watching Saturday.
14/48 watching Saturday night.
Some sort of dog-accompanied outdoors adventure on Sunday.
Editor Dan reports: Tonight, I'm going to bowl in honor of a friend's birthday. The Garage, think? Evite needs checking. Saturday some friends are playing the music at Seamonster Lounge on 45th. Please stalk me there for their benefit. I also suspect I'll be watching a miniumum of eight quarters of Football Americanski from various couches over the weekend. I'll be using Monday for reflection.
Says James: Chores, chores, errands, chores, massage from New Seattle Massage -- oh blessed hour! -- errands, maybe a movie. Sunday night is "fancy cheese for dinner" night in the Callan house (adults only), so we'll also probably buy something tasty from Whole Foods or Bella Cosa to serve on crackers.

god i hope i dont get this boring when i leave college
you will, and then some
Leave college? Just wait until you have a kid. Your life will become duller than dishwater.
(Are they not teaching capitalization in college anymore? Back in my day...)
My life is more exciting than in college because I know measure excitement in # of home improvement projects completed instead of in # of drugs tried.
Seth, you give a bad name to those of us who actually do home improvement. Just whining about the lake in your basement doesn't count.
I didn't just whine about it, I vacuumed up the water with a shop vac. That's a form of home improvement.
Meanwhile, Margaret is in LA auditioning for grad school. Maybe she'll learn to de-capitalize while she's down here.
