Big PFFLLTTT to Sonics Beat Writers

brockman.gifRay Allen got in a fight with Orlando's Keyon Dooling during last night's Sonics win. The fight started on the wing, at the three-point arc, but Allen and Dooling ended up wrestling each other on top of two fans sitting courtside.

But who were the fans? As far as we could glean from their respective web sites, neither the P-I, Times, Eastside Journal, or NBA.com thought to ask either fan how it felt to have 395 lbs. of basketball player scuffling on top of them. Nor did Brian Davis (that bald dude that does the Sonics sideline reporting) think to talk to them.

If this had happened at Madison Square Garden, someone from the Post or Daily News would find out how they got the tickets, what they did for a living, and get a quote like "I think Ray Allen kicked me in the groin" five minutes after the fight happened. Al Trautwig would be chasing after an exclusive interview with the two as if they were Julius Erving's shoes.

But, not here. Why? What good are your press passes, local beat writers, if not to get this critical information for Sonics fans enduring a dreadful season. Surely a quote from a fan that nearly got pummelled is better than an update on Robert Swift's newest post move.

Throw us a bone, will you?

Dood. A Simpsons graphic? That's all I need is burly Harvard-types knocking on my door asking if I know some "Seattlest Seth" because he...uh..."won" something.

Though I agree heartily with the post. The beat writers probably couldn't tell who the fans were from the TV at their favorite bar.
