Stalk of the Town
Here they are--our plans for the weekend. Can you do better than this? Oh...you're..you're doing what? Inside the dryer? Ok, you win. Still, check these out.
Matt: Wine tasting at Tarragona again, then watching the work of the Bard of Avon (ed.: not sure what this means).
Michael V.B.:: Friday evening Michael is off to Greenwood's jolly German bar Prost for happy hour, then back to Capitol Hill for the late show of Terry Gilliam's Brazil at Central Cinema. If he gets worn out watching the first season of the limber-dicked cocksuckers on Deadwood over the weekend, he may head to the NWFF for a showing of I Am A Sex Addict or I Am Cuba, depending upon whether his mood swings confessional or communist.
Donte: He reports that he's having breakfast at some as of yet undetermined restaurant with a friend, then "closing out the evening" with some music from Detroit's Mike Huckaby at the Baltic Room. Only Donte has breakfast so late that he can go immediately to the Baltic Room. Let's just say the guy doesn't see much of Katie Couric.
David S.: His two passions--football and karaoke. Someday he will combine them as the plot of a Broadway musical, starring an unemployed quarterback who finds the anonymity he craves in a karaoke bar, only to be rediscovered by a beautiful young talent agent who also happens to be the daughter of the Dallas Cowboys' coach. They fall in love and discover that he hates tuna rolls. The end.
Audrey: Going to see Richard III tonight (yes, she's dating three guys named Richard).
Gina:: Cashing in her Christmas gift cards. "Nordstrom's: consider yourself warned." (ed note: Gina is a true Seattleite for calling it "Nordstrom's" as if some guy named Nordstrom is actually behind the counter. Keepin' it even realer is Seattlest's dad, who calls the local airplane manufacturer "Boeing's.")
Susan: Going to Seattlest Don's Guilty Pleasures show at the Sunset tonight; going to see Sleepy Time Gorilla Museum (Yo-Yo Ma's new quartet) Saturday night; snowshoeing one day or the other; watching some playoff football.
Molly: Tonight she'll be going to a reading by Merrel Clubb, author of A Life Disturbed: My Pacific War Revisited, at Third Place Books. Tomorrow, a morning mat class at Pilates Powerhouse NW, then smuggling cupcakes into a matinee of Brokeback Mountain. A little heavy stuff, a little sweaty stuff, a little sugary stuff, and gay cowboys. A girl's got to keep things in balance.
Margaret: Movie, drinks, haircut, movie, Christmas, movie.
Seth:: Rainier Beach vs. Ingraham tonight, then to a show at the Showbox. Tomorrow, his mom comes by in the morning to help him paint his room and remind him that she's getting a little tired of changing his diapers after 29 years. That night, karaoke battle. Not sure where so, to be safe, stay 25 feet from all karaoke bars unless you really hate music.
