Okay, okay, you have empathy fatigue or some bullshit like that and you don't want to even hear it anymore. You gave! We know! Don't even mention the word "benefit" in your presence or you're likely to go off on some compassionate conservative rant right here. So, we won't. We won't say that Guilty Pleasures at the Sunset tonight is a benefit.
We will say that last year's audience heard ELO's Telephone Line, Michael Jackson's Man in the Mirror, Toto's Africa, REO's Keep on Lovin' You, Summer of 69 by Bryan Adams, Hold Me Now by the Thompson Twins and of course Mike Danner's amazing version of Benny and the Jets on accordion. Those, friend, are some guilty-ass pleasures. It's at the Sunset, though. There'll be hipsters around so it'll be ok. No one can peer inside your head too see if you're appreciating the music with the proper level of irony.
This year's performers include the west coast version of Life In A Blender (featuring our very own Seattlest Don), Amy Stolzenbach of Gloria and Hell's Belles, Downpilot, Weather and a bunch of others. You should go. It's five bucks, absolutely none of which will be going to Mercy Corp.
