People will email Seattlest with random crap fairly often. "Please check out my potato collection," or "Just thought you should see my new site dedicated to potato collecting." Some of it we check out (that's a lot of potatos, and they look fantastic in that cabinet in the bathroom) and some of it we ignore. This week we got an email from Jay Cox of local rock band The Sea Navy alerting us to the fact that he'd written a holiday song and that it was available for listening on his site. This is the kind of email that makes Seattlest feel like an six-year-old on Christmas morning.
We couldn't wait to tear the wrapping paper off of this holiday sweater and promptly discard it. It turns out that this MP3 is the plastic cast Millenium Falcon of our youth, though - We loved it. It's obviously the result of one too many bong rips at the Sea Navy practice cubicle, but it really sticks to you. Christmas is a time to get a lot of stuff, Christmas is a time to get a lot of stuff Christmas is a time to get a lot of stuff. Sorry, but see what we mean?
Anyway, because this song was sent to us for no apparent reason and because we've decided that it doesn't suck a new Seattlest feature is born: MP3 Of The Week. Send us the url to a freely downloadable MP3 written and performed by you and win the chance to have Seattlest and our questionable musical opinions either ridicule it or praise it as the second coming of Stairway. Either way we'll put it up on the site.

Cool feature! Looking forward to more.
I've been alerted to the fact that no bongs were ripped during the cutting of this track. At least, not by Jay.
