Soundgarden Channeling Spinal Tap
How dissappointing. Chris Cornell of Soundgarden is from Seattle. His ex-wife Susan Silver is, we believe, from Seattle as well. We thought she lived here and owned some cafes or restaurants or something (heads Atmosphere Artist Management). Who knows where Mr. Audioslave lives. Anyway, you'd think the least he could do for the city would be to sue his ex in a Seattle court. He isn't, though. He's suing her in an LA court.
If there's anything more cliche than a rockstar-type suing his ex-wife in an LA court it's a rockstar-type suing his ex-wife/ex-manager for monies owed, which is of course what Cornell is doing. Ah, here we go:
In a lawsuit filed Monday in Los Angeles Superior Court, Cornell alleged that Silver "conspired with other Soundgarden representatives to divert monies owed to [Cornell] to other Soundgarden band members."Cornell, now frontman for the band Audioslave, has moved to Los Angeles. Silver, who heads Atmosphere Artist Management, still lives in Seattle.
A bunch of personal affects are also in question including two Grammies, tapes, recordings and journals and Chris contends that she screwed him out of some Soundgarden royalties.
E! Online, bring it home:
In a statement, Silver says, "Much as I would have preferred not to engage in a response to the baseless, absurd allegations leveled at me by my ex-husband, father of my child, and former client Chris Cornell, I find it necessary to state that at no time have there been any wrongdoings on my part, nor any withholding of his property."She then waxed political: "His claims are as manufactured as Bush's reasons to be at war in Iraq and this attempt to damage my respected reputation will only prove one thing--he should stick to singing."
