Husky Men Ranked

146936.jpegAfter starting the season with four straight wins, the University of Washington men's basketball team snuck into the Associated Press Top 25, garnering one more point in the AP's voting/rankings system than Iowa State.

They still don't rank in the USA Today/ESPN poll, finishing just out of the top 25 with the 27th most votes.

The Dawgs, who have won 25 consecutive home games (one behind current streak leader Gonzaga), play at home tonight at 7pm, and Friday at 3:30.

Tonight's opponent, Idaho, gave Gonzaga a good game last weekend, they've got a couple of athletic guards who can shoot a bit.

The Huskies played Friday's opponent, Loyola Marymount, last year. They won that road game 100-93.

Tonight's game won't be on TV, but Friday's will be on FSN. Tickets for both games are still available.

The Husky women, coming off of a big non-conference win at Alabama, also have home games this week, against No. 12 Utah on Wednesday at 7pm, and against San Diego State on Saturday at 3pm. Tickets will be available at Hec Ed.

as a UW student who is so tired of the football team and wants to win so desperately... the reason weve been winning hasnt been because weve been playing well...we havnt been. weve just been playing shitty teams. the only way we are going to beat GU is if everyone is playing their top game, which they havnt been so far yet this season. still, ill be throwing down some money on my team when im back in the 'Kane for turkey feast.

It would be nice to get some decent competition before the Gonzaga game, but that ain't going to happen. Still, I like the Dawgs' chances. Brockman matches up well with Morrison, and Gonzaga has no-one to guard Brandon Roy--especially if Knight is still injured. Remember, Roy's knee injury kept him out of last year's game.
