We finally succombed. Our love of all things rail finally got us on the trolley, one day before it closes down. Yesterday we rode north from Pioneer Square to the northern terminus (and the maintenance shed) and then back south to the square again. Strangely, as you can see in the pictures, we were basically alone on the way up. What you don't see (lost the light) is that the car was packed on the way back down. Not only was it packed but we even got to witness some very emotionally controlled fairwells between the crew and a passenger who apparently rides the thing daily as an actual means of transportation.
Also, since the shoddiness of our camera can only be matched by our ineptitude in framing, you should check out these recent shots from VR Seattle. Mark Seattlest's words, the next time you come that close to standing inside of one of these trolley cars you'll be at MOHAI.
