Was That Juliette Lewis?

Remember when Juliette Lewis used to be cool? She was one of the high points of the questionable Natural Born Killers. Just previous to that she starred across from Johnny Depp in the Gilbert Grape thing which was only a few years after Cape Fear. Have we mentioned From Dusk Till Dawn? Granted those aren't exactly indie movies, but she's always managed an indie aura even when operating under the most obscene of budgets. Armpit hair will do that for ya.

And when we say "used to be cool" that's not a commentary on her band, which we've never heard. We're sure Juliette and the Licks are super cool and we feel a tinge of regret that we didn't catch them at Easy Street yesterday. It's the Scientology thing. Radar Magazine did a "used to be scary, now sad" bit recently (they also had a great Scientology piece last month, btw). We nominate Juliette for "used to be cool, now scary/sad". Celebs, please lay off the cults.
