The Husky men's basketball team beat Morgan (that's Morgan, not Oregon) State by 67 points. They forced 36 turnovers. Best sign of the night? Hans Gasser knocking down 18-foot jumpers with precision. The second-ranked Husky women's volleyball team lost their first match of the season, a five-game nailbiter at UCLA. They still hold a two game lead in the Pac 10, with three games left. They are home Thursday for a game against Oregon (not Morgan) State.
Japanese free agent catcher Kenji Jojima visited town, meeting with Mariner brass and touring Seattke with his family. The Mariners, facing the prospect of a Yorvit Torrealba/Rene Rivera platoon at catcher, are desperate to sign the .300-hitting catcher.
