Rockrgrls Pillage City, Exchange Business Cards

rockr.gifCarla DeSantis and her Rockrgrl Conference roll up into Seattle this weekend for three days of ass kicking music and, uh, a bunch of panels and a trade show. Ok, when we think rock n' roll we don't immediately associate it with a conference, but everyone's not us. We're generally on the recieving end of the rock. Someone's gotta take one for the team and actually make the stuff, and the women who do that well (Patti Smith!) will be at this conference. We couldn't be happier that Rockrgrl makes its home here.

The point of this post is to remind you of the massive amount of music associated with this conference at many many venues around town. Make sure to check out what's happening Friday and Saturday nights at the music showcases. Wow that's a lot of music and Seattlest isn't even going to pretend we can help you navigate that. If you're not already registered you are on the outside for the daytime events, but if you are an attendee you're looking forward to panels like "Life After Birth: Can you be a mom and a musician too?" and "Female Guitarists: Where have all the shredders gone?" If we were to don a punk wig and a falsified badge we'd head straight toward "Podcasts, EPKS and Blogs: New internet frontiers," Saturday afternoon.
