Local hater Pete Bagge drew a little comic strip last year for the anarcho-fascist propoganda outlet Reason Magazine that heaped scorn and ridcule on the innocent men, women and children of the art world. Now, one year later, Bagge's karma comes back to bite him in the ass with an art world style exhibition of that very same comic. Will the hypocrisy blow Bagge's mind? Will it be as bad as that one scene in the Star Wars movie where Luke Skywalker cuts off Darth Vader's head only to see behind the mask... his own face!?
Joining Bagge for the hypocrisy fest is a sordid cast of local cartooning talents/hypocrites including the likes of known hypocrite David Lasky (who co-curates the show), former Seattle native now living in Brooklyn Megan Kelso, allegedly a former custodian of Fine Art at Sea-Tac Airport (an allegation that could not be verified at press time), local painter Robert Rini credited in the show's press release as a security guard for the Henry Art Museum, subject of Bagge's scorn in the original Real Art comic (perhaps raising the local tv news style exploito-question: "Is the fox guarding the hen house?"), Jeremy Eaton whose work in the show is previewed on the Fantagraphics blog, and Dwarf Attack creator Greg Stump, who courageously wore a Tobias Bluth costume for Halloween without even knowing who Tobias Bluth was.
The Real Art show will take place Saturday November 12th from 6-9pm at The Sessions Gallery and continues through December 18. The Sessions Gallery, 2220 NW Market St, (206) 234-5000. Hours: Sat-Sun 11am-4pm
