The Greatest Show On Ice

What draws Seattlest to the sport of curling? Maybe its that movie we once saw on the CBC where Leslie Neilson plays a psilocybin-munching curling guru. Maybe it's the similarity to the shuffleboard we enjoy so much at the Eastlake Zoo Tavern (if we can wrestle the table away from the frat-set). Perhaps it's the mysterious fume de Canada that surrounds it? Who knows? Who cares? We just love it, despite the fact that we've never played it.

Well, we're gonna play it. The Granite Curling Club of Seattle has a bunch of open houses coming up and Seattlest will be in attendance for at least one of them. Actually, we just decided, right here in front of your very eyes, that we definitely might even join a novice league, depending on how well we do in convincing our friends to form a team. Friends, you better start (or continue, as the case may be) avoiding us now or else get your tiny brooms ready for some frantic ice sweeping.

Try it you'll like it, that about sums up curling. It will hook you and draw you in and before long you will be hunting for bonspiels you can attend. What's a bonspiel ? Just start curling and you will find out. Good Luck and Good Curling.
