Edmonds Defeats Ferguson

bobf.JPGThe Battle in North Seattle and Surrounding Areattles appears to be over.

With still a couple of absentee ballots making their way in from overseas, Bob Ferguson has taken a 1,300 vote lead over Carolyn Edmonds in the race for King County position number 1, and Edmonds has reportedly conceeded.

Ferguson will now head towards the general election, making the winner...him. Unless King County Elections somehow screws it all up, and puts it in the hands of the lawyers and bean counters.

Ferguson and Edmonds are both incumbents, who were running for the same seat after voters approved a measure that shrunk the county council from thirteen seats to nine.

The Seattle PI wrote that this Ferguson victory may actually hurt the Democrats on the council, because Ferguson doesn't always go along with the party. Of course the PI also runs the comic strip Dennis the Menace.

In another such race , Republican Reagan Dunn beat Republican Steve Hammonds over there on the Eastside somewhere. Luckily we never have to go near that place.

You know, the P-I also runs Boondocks. (I prefer the hyphen.) And no one's *making* you read Dennis the Menace (unless it's the early years, in which he's a real hellion, people tell me).

  • Oh Ian, way to show off your smartosity. The headline is blatantly, obviously tongue-in-cheek, in reference to "Dewey Defeats Truman."

Wow. You'd have to try really hard to get the title of this article more factually incorrect.
